Why we exist
“The gap between freelancers and big agencies is exactly where we work.”

On one side, freelancers: often talented, often affordable, but with real uncertainty attached. Full-time or side project? Still around in six months? On the other side, larger agencies bring process and resources, but also significant overheads and a disconnect from the people doing the work.

Most business owners we talk to have been caught between the two: paying more than expected, getting less than promised, or working with someone who was great until they weren't. Brilliant Digital sits in between. A proper, established agency: experienced, reliable, and accountable, without the weight of a big operation behind it.

Our story

Started in 2014.
Still building.

Alex began his career in digital in 2014, working independently under his own name: building websites, managing Google Ads campaigns, and learning as much as he could about what genuinely helps businesses grow. Not just how to make things look good. How to make them work.

That background in digital marketing has always shaped how Brilliant Digital approaches a brief. A website needs to bring in enquiries. It needs to convert visitors into customers. It needs to do something measurable for the business. Design is the vehicle, not the destination.

In 2017, Alex relocated from London to the East Midlands and founded Brilliant Digital as a proper agency. He'd been attending local business networking events, talking to business owners across Lincolnshire and beyond, and seeing the same frustrations up close. Brilliant Digital was built as a direct response to them.

Around 2019, his brother joined the team as a skilled designer and developer, bringing careful attention to detail to every project. That's still the team today. Small, focused, and deliberate.

We do the things you didn't know to ask for.

Analytics setup, sitemap submission, Google Search Console, website training: the things that matter in the weeks after launch are included as standard. Not because we have to. Because it's the right thing to do.

Design that converts, not just impresses.

A website can look exceptional and still fail the business it was built for. Alex's background spans digital marketing and conversion strategy as well as design, and he pairs that experience with modern tools, including AI, to make sure every project performs as well as it looks.

You always work directly with Alex.

From the first call to the final handover, Alex is your point of contact. No account managers, no passing you around. The person you speak to is the person leading your project.

A process that keeps you involved at every stage.

Every project follows a structured process: consultation, design mock-up, homepage build and sign-off, then remaining pages in turn. You review and approve each stage. No surprises at the end.

Alex has been working in digital since 2014, building websites and running marketing campaigns for businesses of all shapes and sizes. He founded Brilliant Digital with a single ambition: help small and medium businesses grow online, properly.

What sets him apart is the combination of disciplines. Most designers design. Most marketers market. Alex does both, which means every project is guided from a strategic perspective as well as a visual one. Not just how it looks, but how it converts, how it fits into the wider business, and what it actually does for the people it's built for. He brings that thinking to every project from the first conversation through to launch.

Cip
Design & Development

Cip joined Brilliant Digital in 2019 and focuses on design and development across client projects. Methodical and precise, he works through every build with the kind of attention to detail that shows up in the finished product.

While Alex leads on strategy and client direction, Cip makes sure the execution lives up to the brief.
